Spraoi (pronounced: spree)
Spraoi is an Irish word which means play or fun!
Spraoi Therapy is a mobile occupational therapy service, providing therapy to children 3 to12 years old in the Kingston and Frankston local government areas of Melbourne.
Spraoi Therapy aims to provide fun, playful, evidence-based intervention in the child’s natural environment, such as their home, kinder, childcare or school.
Therapy
Spraoi Therapy provides occupational therapy interventions in the child’s natural environment, such as their home, school, childcare or kinder.
Play
Play allows a child to build and develop many different skills, including their fine motor skills, cognitive skills, problem solving skills and social skills.
Goals
Therapy interventions are goal focused, with goals set in collaboration with the family and the child.
What is occupational therapy?
Occupational therapists help people to do everything they need and want to do. For a child, this may include being able to play with their friends, feed and dress themselves, draw a picture or write a story, and be able to participate in school or kinder.
Child-centred, family-centred practice
Therapy sessions at Spraoi Therapy are child centred. Sessions will be developed around your child’s interests and goals. Spraoi Therapy puts family first, developing therapy interventions to fit in with you and your family.
